Full-Time Positions:

Public works operator i & ii
Note to Applicant

This hiring is primarily for the Sewer Collections Team, although the selected candidate may be required to assist Water Distribution staff as operational needs dictate. There are currently two vacant positions, and placement will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, certifications, and experience.

 

Job DescriptionS

Performs a variety of semi-skilled to skilled duties supporting the construction, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of water distribution and sewer collection systems. Responsibilities include installing and repairing water mains, service lines, hydrants, valves, and meters; operating heavy equipment and power tools; performing excavation, asphalt repair, and utility locating; collecting water samples; maintaining system records; and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The role also supports sewer maintenance, grounds and vegetation management at District facilities, equipment maintenance, and emergency call-out response. Public Works Operator IPublic Works Operator II

Ideal Candidates Will Have:
Public Works Operator I
  • Must obtain a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Grade I certification within one year of hire.
  • A valid California Class C Driver License and a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to respond to the District office within one hour when assigned on-call duties.
Public Works Operator II
  • Possession of a California Water Environment Association (CWEA) Collection System Maintenance Grade II certification at the time of hire.
  • NASSCO P.A.C.P. certification is highly desirable but not required.
  • A valid California Class B Commercial Driver License with Tanker Endorsement and a satisfactory driving record maintained throughout employment.
  • Ability to respond to the District office within one hour when assigned on-call duties.

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Customer Service Representative, you are the primary point of contact for district residents. You will perform customer service duties related to general reception, establishing, maintaining, and closing customer accounts, and processing payments; learns and assists in processing and reconciling billing; performs related work as required and maintain compliance with district policies.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • Minimum of six (6) months customer service experience in a retail environment including cash handling
  • Be bilingual in Spanish and English.

Salary range: $25.07 to $32.09 per hour
